NCCC 2010 Autumn Seminar on September 9: Internationalisation of Chinese Companies

Norwegian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (NCCC) and BI Norwegian School of Management are happy to announce that we are organizing a business seminar in cooperation with the Chinese Cultural Festival 2010 in Oslo on Sept 9th 2010, from 14.00 to 17.00. The topic of the seminar will be “Internationalisation of Chinese Companies” – a topic which is highly relevant, also in Norway.

Chinese companies have gathered substantial strength in recent years, many taking advantage of the financial crisis. However, going international is challenging – something the Chinese themselves have experienced through the inpour of foreign business to China over the past 30 years. Now the tide is turning: Chinese owners have entered the global arena – and they have come to stay.

US China currency dispute

Premier Wen stands firm on the issues of a possible revaluation of the yuan, says China Daily in it Monday 15th March 2010 edition, one day after the closing of the Peoples Congress. The Premier rebuffs calls by western nations on currency revaluation, and says the stable rate has helped global recovery.

Wens rejection of the view that the Yuan is undervalued, came at the press conference marking the end of the National Peoples Congress.

The Chinese premier blames 'a kind of trade protectionism' for the tension between China and the US over the currency issue, according to the Wall Street Jounal (Sunday March 14, 2010). This response follows tougher pressure from the US Administration on Beijing to appreciate the Chinese currency.
